This list of bicycles is restricted to non-racing practical recreational type street models. Comfort adult bicycles, Hybrid/Cross bikes. Most with either 26in wheel or 700c wheel. There are approximately 64 different models or brands of bicycles listed here.

FEZZARI Two great hybrid 700c bike models appropriate for this website: The Speedster R1 - "The Speedster is the ultimate fitness / cruiser / commuter bike. It's lightweight and fast like a road bike, but the mountain bike-style geometry, including handlebars and adjustable stem, allow you to sit more upright, making it one of the most comfortable bikes to ride.
As a commuter bike: because you sit upright more, it's safer in traffic. It's also light (approx 23 lbs) so you can carry it up stairs if you need to. The narrow tires allow you to go almost 7 mph quicker with the same amount of energy you would use on a mountain or other large tire bike. You can also add accessories easily: there are mounting bolts on the front and back for racks; we also offer quick release fenders specially designed for the Speedster.
As a cruiser bike: the Speedster is at least 10 lbs lighter than a traditional cruiser bike, so you'll go farther and faster. Plus you have multiple gear options (24-speeds). It also has mounting bolts for child carriers.

"We build bikes for women". They sell beautiful handmade bicycles especially for women. They specialize in womens bikes. They also have a waiting list and they will also ship completed orders anywhere i guess as long as you are willing to pay the shipping and handling fees from Portland Oregon where they are based.
TREK BICYCLES Trek sells a good amount of city street use bicycles. I'm focusing on these three catagories: Comfort bikes (26" wheels), Hybrid (700c wheels) & Cruisers (usually 26" wheels). Click on their "City & Bike Path" link. All of their Comfort Bikes are of interest. For their Hybrid models, the 7300, 7200 & 7100 are the subjects of interest. All of their Cruiser models are of interest. The "Clyde" is equipped with Nexus 7 and the "Town "&" Country" is equipped with Nexus 4.
PEDERSEN BICYCLES A very different bicycle design available also in a tandem model. Business located in Pasadena California. This bicycle is built for comfort and incorporates a very unique design. Built using high quality components, a true quality bicycle. "I usually do a custom assembly, as each owner wants something slightly different. Ordering is easy, but there are a lot of decisions to make starting with frame size. There is a fair amount of conversing involved, either e-mail, over the phone, or in person. SYCIP (see-cip) Sycip sells beautiful handcrafted bikes including an inventory of Road, Mountain, Cyclocross, Tandem, Cruiser, and 26" BMX frame type bicycles. They also have a selection of different parts and hardware options. For our purposes here check out their Superboy 26" BMX Cruiser and their Java Boy Town Cruiser both street worthy bicycles with frames made using Cro-moly Steel.
DEKRABIKE I think this is a relatively new bike sales company based in California. They sell chainless bicycles. They have two basic models: One, a comfort bike and also a beach cruiser model.
ROCKY MOUNTAIN BICYCLES They have available a pretty good line of street bicycles. Mostly Hybrid/cross and City bikes. See Excursion: Whistler, Metro models, & Citybikes: RC, Metropolis models.
THE STYLYX BICYCLE This is really a neat concept. Please take a look at this new comfort bicycle made in Australia, sold in America. It's a new design idea, looks good.
IXIBIKE They sell two models; both look the same except the frame of one folds. This bike has 16" x 1.5" tires. It appears to me to be a well made bicycle that uses a belt-drive instead of a standard bicycle chain. Gearing consists of a 4-speed Shimano Nexus hub with coaster brake.
GT BICYCLES GT sells a line of comfort and commuter bikes and is not a new company based in Southern California.
TERRY BICYCLES This business specializes in "Women's Bicycles" only. I especially like their hybrid bike called the "SUSAN B". They specialize in women cycling. Bicycles are designed to fit the female frame. Also on this site are some good men's and women's bicycle saddles.
KONA BICYCLE COMPANY Click on their 2008 bikes then click on the "Asphalt" category which will display a drop-down list of their street ready bicycles. The models include: Smoke, Dr. Dew, Dew Deluxe, Dew, Kona EightyEight Cruiser, Ute (a longbike), Paddywagon. Kona makes some really beautiful bikes in my opinion. They also make a bicycle called the AfricaBike A utilitarian bike for the nation of Africa.
RALEIGH BIKES Raleigh sells a good selection of street bicycles. They have a good line of hybrid/cross bikes, cruisers, comfort bikes, road bikes and more.
GIANT BICYCLES They have a nice selection of hybrid/cross bicycles. And unique cruisers also.
KHS BICYCLES This is a California company and they sell many different types of bicycles. For our purposes they have: Comfort bikes, Hybrid/Cross 700c Bicycles, Cruisers and 3 or 4 models of folding bicycles & an Adult Tricycle.
SPECIALIZED BICYCLES "Crossroads" is the name of their hybrid/cross bicycle line. They sell a bike called the "Globe" a european style city touring and commuter/trekking bicycle. And they have a line of 26in wheel "comfort" bikes. They carry many great street bikes for casual recreational commuting type bicycle users.
K2 BIKE They sell Hybrid, Comfort, Road and Mountain bikes. They also sell a complete line of women specific bikes i.e. bicycles with frames built to fit most women's anatomy; they are in a section called T:Nine "bicycles designed by women for women". And they are very nicely done also, a good selection.
ELECTRA BICYCLE COMPANY Beautiful & unique cruiser type bicycles! Check out their line called "Townie". They also now have a line called "Amsterdam" a city bike.
SCHWINN BICYCLES They sell a complete line of street bikes. They sell Beach Cruisers, Hybrid/Cross bikes, Commuter Bikes (all 700c wheel), a Tandem Bicycle, and Comfort Bikes (26" wheel). They also have a unique line called: Comfort Road. "Road bikes aren't just for racers. Schwinn Super Sport bikes are geared to the road rider who is looking for the efficiency only found in a road bike without the road-racing body position. Perfect for all day rides, light touring and charity rides".
JAMIS BIKES They have a large line of street bikes. They sell Hybrid/Cross models, Cruiser Bikes, Comfort Bikes, & what they call Commuter Bikes.
HUFFY BIKES You can order parts for your Huffy Bicycle using their 800 number.
BREEZER BIKES For the benefit of many older men such as myself, i wished some bicycle companies would produce a bicycle easier to mount with the frame dimensions of a men's bike but in the U-Frame configuration. The U-frame offers step-through ease for both men and women. The step-through option makes the bike easy to mount even when fully loaded. The Breezer Uptown 8, Large Size U-frame, which fits riders 5'8" to 6'2" and has a top tube length of 23.2" seems to come close to being a good men's bike. Even though the bike is presented by some people as a better women's bike it might be great for men who have a hard time swinging their leg over the top tube or saddle. Anyway, Breezer Bikes offer at least the following three categories of street worthy bicycles.

Town Bikes: Which include Diamond Frame and U-Frame type bikes. These bikes are perfect for relaxed rides and errands. They feature easy-shifting Shimano Nexus hub transmissions. A host of integrated transportation equipment makes them truly useful in everyday life. For each of the four Town bike models, there's a choice of Diamond Frame or easy-to-mount, step-through U-Frame.

Range Bikes: Which use a Direct-X Frame. With their wide-range derailleur gearing are great for longer distances, steeper hills, commuting, touring. They feature the same built-in transportation equipment as the Town bikes.

Folding Bikes: Are terrific time-savers for short trips and train or bus commutes. These compact bikes ride big, and fold easily to a small size to go places full-size bikes can't. Ride to the station; fold the bike for your transit trip; bike to the office. Great for people with limited space: apartment dwellers, RV, boat and private plane owners.
MARIN BIKES Marin has a big inventory of very beautiful street bikes to include the following categories: Urban 26", City 700c, Commuter 700c, Comfort 26", Cruisers 26", road (ALP) 700c.
FUJI BIKES This company has a large selection of "Lifestyle" bicycles: Cruiser bikes with 26in wheels which include models Sanibel DX & LX and Cape May (diamond frame) Cruiser.

SPIN CYCLZ I like this site. They have some really nice street bikes. Take a look see at their "Crank Forward" section or models. Layed back design for comfort riding. Looks to be well made. BIOMEGA They sell modern beautiful street bikes. Their Amsterdam model Medium size 20" frame - Fits women between 168-182 cm - 5.5-6.0 Ft Tall and might fit men that tall also. I mean if you are looking for a u-frame bike that can be ridden by a man. The bike comes in four different frame sizes: 15", 17.5", 20" and 22.5".
NYCBIKES This small business located in Brooklyn NY puts together for sale these neat bikes which include a number of singlespeeders & multi-speed bikes. They ship custom built bikes anywhere and check out their very reasonable prices.
AHEARNE CYCLES They sell handmade bicycles from Portland Oregon. What is a citybike?
True to its name, "citybikes" are bicycles designed for everyday use in the city. Unlike mountain bikes or road bikes, which are designed for off-road use and road racing, citybikes are deliberately designed for city riding. Citybikes are used for everyday transportation (work, shopping and play). In Amsterdam, for example, citybikes are the transportation choice for more than 35% of all trips in the city. Citybikes have three distinct features that make them a popular metropolitan bicycle:
1. Built-in accessories: Fenders, lights, cargo rack and strap, safety lock, kickstand, bell, and most importantly, chain and wheel splash guards to keep coats and trousers clean.
2. Citybikes allow you to sit tall in a comfortable and relaxed position versus the stretched out, "sporty" riding position common to mountain and road bikes. The tall sitting position improves overall safety and visibility, allowing drivers to see you better and you to get a better overview of the road.
3. Citybikes are either single speed or use an internal hub gearing system (we use a 7-speed), which is clean and very low maintenance.

BIRIA USA This is a german bicycle company with dealers all over the US and California. These are nice comfort type practical bikes. Also, i want to update this entry to include a very important addition to their bicycle line. I have always been an advocate of mens u-frame bikes and this company has developed a line of just such a bicycle.
DIAMONDBACK BICYCLES Diamondback has a nice line of street worthy bicycles which include a Comfort line, Cruiser line, Hybrid/Cross line & Commuter line. These bikes are a good value for the money in my opinion.

KETTLER USA These bicycles are made in Germany and distributed across the US from Virginia Beach, VA. The website is very well done. I have never seen a Kettler Bike but they appear to be well made and in the higher price range. You can order direct from their website.

BIKESDIRECT.COM These people sell bicycles online and I think they have been around for quite awhile. I like their site. They sell other companies bicycles for, I guess, a lower price. They have some nice stuff. They sell: cruiser-hybrid-comfort.
BILENKY.COM This is a bicycle making company located back east in Pennsylvania and they have a very unique line of products. Check out their "cargo bikes".
BIGHA The only recumbent bicycle on this website. Price $3000.00 and looks to be very well made. At least it better be for that price.
