  3. Civia Loring CIVIA CYCLES   This appears to be a well made commuter or transportation bicycle. The bicycle is built for people who use their bike for transportation and want a quality product. They have two models available on their website: Hyland & Loring. You can buy either complete bicycles or just buy the frame and add components from their inventory.   11. Trek Bikes Allant TREK BICYCLES   Trek sells a good amount of city street use bicycles. I'm focusing on these three categories: Comfort bikes (26" wheels), Hybrid (700c wheels) & Cruisers (usually 26" wheels). Click on their "City & Bike Path" link. All of their Comfort Bikes are of interest. For their Hybrid models, the 7300, 7200 & 7100 are the subjects of interest. All of their Cruiser models are of interest. The "Clyde" is equipped with Nexus 7 and the "Town "&" Country" is equipped with Nexus 4.

  13. Java boy Eggshell SYCIP   Sycip (see-cip) sells beautiful handcrafted bikes including an inventory of Road, Mountain, Cyclocross, Tandem, Cruiser, and 26" BMX frame type bicycles. They also have a selection of different parts and hardware options. For our purposes here check out their Superboy 26" BMX Cruiser and their Java Boy Town Cruiser both street worthy bicycles with frames made using Cro-moly Steel.

  18. Terry Valkyrie Commuter TERRY BICYCLES   This business specializes in "Women's Bicycles" only. I especially like their hybrid bike called the "VALKYRIE COMMUTE" pictured on the right. They specialize in women cycling. Bicycles are designed to fit the female frame. Also on this site are some good men's and women's bicycle saddles.

  19. Kona Dew Deluxe KONA BICYCLE COMPANY   Click on their 2009 bikes then click on the "Asphalt" category which will display a drop-down list of their street ready bicycles.   23. American Flyer SPECIALIZED BICYCLES   "Crossroads" is the name of their hybrid/cross bicycle line. They sell a bike called the "Globe" a european style city touring and commuter/trekking bicycle. And they have a line of 26in wheel "comfort" bikes.     SCHWINN BICYCLES   They sell a complete line of street bikes. They sell Beach Cruisers, Hybrid/Cross bikes, Commuter Bikes (all 700c wheel), a Tandem Bicycle, and Comfort Bikes (26" wheel).   28. Breezer Finesse Commuter bicycle

    BREEZER BIKES   For the benefit of many older men such as myself, i wished some bicycle companies would produce a bicycle easier to mount with the frame dimensions of a men's bike but in the U-Frame configuration. The U-frame offers step-through ease for both men and women. The step-through option makes the bike easy to mount even when fully loaded. The Breezer Uptown 8, Large Size U-frame, which fits riders 5'8" to 6'2" and has a top tube length of 23.2" seems to come close to being a good men's bike. Even though the bike is presented by some people as a better women's bike it might be great for men who have a hard time swinging their leg over the top tube or saddle. This company should really be supported more, because they really do carry a fairly large variety of street bicycles. The picture on the right is of their "Crank forward" model called the Saratoga 3.0, a very low priced basic bicycle. I think Fuji is a Japanese company, the name sure sounds like it anyway.

    What is a citybike?
    True to its name, "citybikes" are bicycles designed for everyday use in the city. Two models so far - the Hooligan 8 & the Hooligan 3. I think i am going to buy the Hooligan 8. I have always wanted a non-folding bike with a 20in wheel. I like 20in wheels, easy to get tires and tubes for, nice to put in your car or on the bus.

If you click on the picture it will take you to a nice picture of the Sun Ruskin Men's 7 speed. I like this bike a lot. That's all you really need - seven speeds. Plus, it's a 700c wheeled bike making it a great street bicycle.
