PARSIPPANY, N.J., March 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Kent International Inc., a designer and distributor of bicycles, today announced the U.S. launch of the Kangaroo WeeRide(R), a unique, center mounted bicycle seat for children that marks the first time a product of its kind is available in the United States. The seat, which enhances safety and enjoyment for both child and adult, is being distributed through at retail stores nationwide. Until now, taking a toddler on a bike ride was an isolating experience for both parent and child. Relegated to the rear, children saw little more than the backs of their parents and heard few, if any, of their parents' remarks or exclamations. Parents, for their part, could only hear or see their child if they took their eyes off the road and turned around -- a dangerous proposition -- or if they stopped pedaling and got off the bike -- an inconvenient one. And with children in the back and out of sight, any sudden movements or weight shifts had the potential to catch parents unaware and set them off balance. With the award-winning design of the Kangaroo WeeRide(R), however, the child gets a better view of the scenery and the parent better control of the bike and more interaction with the child. An innovative, patent-pending steel support bar attaches the carrier between the front handle-bar tube and the seat post. From this position, parents can talk to their children as they ride and create a shared experience not possible with traditional rear-mounted seats.

The Kangaroo WeeRide also includes an angled table for children to rest their hands and heads upon as well as enclosed foot beds that keep feet protected during the ride. There is an adjustable three-point harness as well as thick padding for the child's comfort. Best of all, the front mount positions children between their parents' arms adding an extra level of security, comfort and intimacy for both.
