SOURCES FOR BIKE PARTS, ACCESSORIES & TOOLS

Most of the mail order bicycle parts & accessories companies and many bicycle shops feature products geared to the "bicycle racing industry". So what you have to do is pick through their products for items suitable for our purpose here. There needs to be more parts suppliers available for the non-racing type rider which consists of about over 75% of us bicyclists. Actually, there are a lot of beautiful non-racing style bicyles available and I hate to see their numbers and availability decline due to lack of interest by the general public.
  1. BIKE NASHBAR   This is a very good mail order company which gives great fast service. They sell many popular bicycle parts & accessories.

  2. 2WHEELOGIC   This appears to be a new online store. I like their handlebar grips and city tires. They sell a line of bicycle tools. Yuban bicycle chain. Crowncycle distributor.

  3. CAMBRIA BIKE OUTFITTER   I buy from CBO and they give me good service. They seem to stock lots of things non-racing bike riders can use.

  4. GAERLAN   I have bought things from this place. They have some good standard bicycle parts. I think they mostly cater to the recumbent bicycle community.

  5. JENSONUSA   "Welcome to JensonUSA, your online supplier for mountain bikes, mountain bike parts, and accessories".

  6. PRECISION TANDEMS   This website is dedicated to servicing the tandem bicycle community but sells a lot of parts that can be used by all. They sell bicycle parts, accessories & tandem bicycles (bicycles built for two people).

  7. TOPEAK   Topeak has a nice website and they sell a lot of different items serving the bicycling community.

  8. QBIKE   I think this website specializes in searching for bicycle parts and accessories. "The ultimate bike search engine".

  9. AIR BOMB   I buy parts from airbomb and i have never had any problems with them. They carry a large assortment of bicycle parts.

  10. WALLINGFORD BICYCLE PARTS   They carry Brooks Saddles, tires & supplies, Silca floor pumps, panniers, seatposts, tools & supplies, tubus cargo racks, fenders, sky mounti inclinometers, king cage, rainlegs and other neat things.

  11. HOSTEL SHOPPE   This outfit specializes in parts for recumbent bicycles but i include them here because a lot of the items they sell cross-over to regular conventional bicycle use.

  17.
  18. COLORADO CYCLIST   This is another mail order company. They seem to sell items mostly for "bicycle racing" but you may be able to pick out some things suitable for normal street riding.

  19. SHELDON BROWN   Excellent site! Very educational also!

  21. PERFORMANCE BICYCLE   Another mail order company.

  22. EXCEL SPORTS BOULDER   Again, mostly racing type stuff, but maybe some things for non-racers.

  23. LOOSE SCREWS BICYCLE SMALL PARTS   This is a neat little place.

  24. BIKEMINE   The name says it all. This place is a "goldmine" of information if you are looking for the following items: Bicycle Tires, Saddles, Locks, or Cyclometers. Actually, it's a wholesale bike parts site set up for dealers but the retail consumer can use the site to locate their products (in the categories previously mentioned) and the location of the closest bicycle shop that sells these items in their hometown (click on the top link "dealer locator"). Also, they wanted me to be sure and tell people to visit their "advocacy" page and support the organizations listed there.

  25. SRAM   Two big items of special interest: Shifting Systems & Bicycle Chains. SRAM has an internal gear hub system similar to Shimano Nexus and they say this on their website: "Seven speeds for work commutes or weekend rides. If you're looking for an entire drive train, you can't do any better than SRAM® Spectro S7™. The shifter delivers highly visible gear indicators, super-light shifting forces and ergonomics. The drum and coaster brakes feature a highly resistant sealing designed to take a bite out of corrosive elements".

    Quick Facts:
    » Super-light shifting forces
» Superior gear indication and improved ergonomics
» High braking forces for reliable brake performance

They sell a high quality line of bicycle chains. They also sell the "grip shift MRX" derailleur gear changing shifters which I like a lot.
